Connecting the research to the practice of music education

Janice will speak with experienced Orff educator and lecturer in music, dance and educational psychology Robyn Staveley about Neuropedagogy, particularly relating cognitive neuroscience to practice or usable theory.

Robyn is a Senior Lecturer in the Teacher Education Program at the University of Technology, Sydney.

She has taught music and movement education in schools and for professional education organizations in Australia and throughout Asia. She has presented at many conferences and teacher training courses and has published and presented papers in the area of music education.

Robyn is currently researching neuropedagogy, relating cognitive neuroscience to practice in music education.

She is a Past President of the NSW Orff Schulwerk Association, is the current NSWOSA Teacher Training Coordinator and is on the Committee of the Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk.

Robyn has also been awarded the Australian Council of Orff Schulwerk Award of Honour for 2018.
